Drop-in COVID-19 vaccination sessions available this week (12/05/2021)

Anyone over 40 can ‘walk in’ to a number of vaccination centres without an appointment this week. The drop-in sessions are being offered at our large vaccination centres, and there’s a table below for showing the locations and opening hours (also via this link https://covid.healthierfuture.org.uk/vaccination-walk-times-40-year-olds-10-16-may-2021).

This is being done to make the most of available vaccine supplies so for a limited period, people yet to book their first vaccine can turn up at one of the sites in Hertfordshire and west Essex to receive their first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine.

Anyone doing this should ideally take their NHS number with them (a person can access their NHS number starting with this link here ).  Otherwise, any other recognised form of identification, such as a driving license, passport or utility bill, will be fine. There are plenty of appointments available for people who are eligible and prefer to make a booked appointment – either directly with participating GP practices or by using the National Booking Service.

Those people who already have a booked appointment at a vaccination centre, GP-led site or pharmacy should attend their appointment as planned.

The Avanti School vaccination centre in Bishop’s Stortford and the Chells Manor community pharmacy vaccination centre in Stevenage are both offering Pfizer vaccine sessions on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday this week.  Pfizer appointments at these locations must be booked through the online National Booking Service or by calling 119.
