Covid Restriction Update – Tuesday 20th July 2021

Throughout the pandemic, we have strived to make the surgery as safe as possible for all our patients and staff and we will continue to do so going forward.

From the 19th July, nothing will change at the surgery. Recent guidance states that we are not to reduce current infection control measures. This means that patients will still need to wear a mask, socially distance and entrance to the surgery will continue to be on invite only. Staff will continue to wear PPE. We do understand that it can be frustrating but, as we have been seeing patients face to face when it is clinically necessary and asking sick and vulnerable patients to come in for examination (some of which cannot receive the Covid vaccination due to medical reasons), we feel it would be wrong to not take these small precautions that can protect people.

In terms of opening up, as many of you know, we have never been shut and in fact have provided a much higher number of appointments than we did pre-Covid (face to face, by phone, by eConsult and video), not counting vaccinating a large percentage of the local community twice in the last 6 months.

With the support of most of our patients and the measures Baldock Surgery has taken, we have come so far in trying to minimise the impact of Covid. We are sure you understand that we need to keep the surgery as safe for ALL patients as we can.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
