Covid Restriction Update

Throughout the pandemic we have strived to make the surgery as safe as possible for all our patients and staff and we will continue to do so going forward.

From the 19th July nothing will change at the surgery. Recent guidance states that we are not to reduce current infection control measures. This means that patients will still need to wear a mask, socially distance, and entrance to the surgery will continue to be on invite only. Staff will continue to wear PPE. We do understand that it can be frustrating, but we as we have been seeing patients face to face when it is clinically necessary and asking sick and vulnerable patients to come in for examination, some of which cannot receive the Covid vaccination due to medical reasons, we feel it would be wrong to not take these small precautions that can protect people.

In terms of opening up, as many of you know, we have never been shut and in fact have provided with much higher numbers of appointments than we did pre-Covid (face to face, by phone, by eConsult and video), not counting vaccinating a large percentage of the local community twice in the last 6 months. The front doors will remain closed in order for us to be able to safely monitor numbers of patients in the building and ensure social distancing can be achieved.

With the support of our patients and the measures Sollershott Surgery has taken we have come so far in trying to minimise the impact of Covid and we are sure you understand that we need to keep the surgery as safe for ALL patients as we can.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
