Confidentiality & Medical Records

We ask for personal medical information so that you can receive care and treatment. This information is recorded on computer and we are registered under the Data Protection Act. The practice will ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times by all members of the practice team. However, for the effective functioning of a multi-disciplinary team it is necessary that medical information about you is shared between memebers of the practice team.

Your records are safe with us

The practice has strict confidentiality and security policies which all members of the team have a duty to maintain. We only use or pass your information to other NHS health care staff who have a genuine need to know and they also have a professional duty to maintain the highest levels of confidentiality. We never knowingly disclose personal information to third parties without your written consent, except if legally required. From time to time trusted providers need to access our systems for maintenance, support, and updating of our information technology.
